Figitidae

Taxonomic History / Nomenclature
In some of the older literature, eucoilines have been placed in the family Cynipidae or treated as their own family (Eucoilidae).
Remarks
Many of the Figitidae are koinobiont endoparasitoids of cyclorrhaphous Diptera, ovipositing in the host larva and emerging from the puparium. The subfamily Eucoilinae contains several species that have been reared from fruit-infesting Tephritidae as well as several other species attacking Drosophilidae, Lonchaeidae, and other cyclorrhaphous Diptera breeding in fruit.
