Metopius (Cultrarius) birkmani Brues, 1907
Diagnosis and Relationships
Lower tooth of mandible entirely absent (see M. comptus page, Fig. 1). Interantennal process compressed, with median carina (Fig. 1). Facial shield with a median longitudinal carina (Fig. 1). Occipital carina absent ventrally, below level of occipital foramen. Tarsal claws of fore and mid legs with pectination only on basal 0.3-0.7. Metapleuron almost impunctate (Fig. 4). Mesopleuron with a large, yellow spot (Figs 2, 4).

Known from Texas, southern Arizona, and southern California.
