Metopius (Cultrarius) scapulatus Townes and Townes, 1959
Diagnosis and Relationships
Lower tooth of mandible entirely absent (see M. comptus page, Fig. 1). Interantennal process compressed, with median carina. Facial shield with a median longitudinal carina (Fig. 1). Occipital carina absent ventrally, below level of occipital foramen. Tarsal claws of fore and mid legs with pectination complete, extending to apex of claw. Galea and glossa short and held within the oral cavity. Mesoscutum with an anterolateral yellow spot.
