Mesoleiini Thomson, 1883

Introduction
Mesoleiini are largely defined by the absence of the specialized features that were used by Townes (1970) to characterize other ctenopelmatine tribes. All mesoleiines lack the tyloid on the first flagellomere, a feature found in members of the Perilissini, Scolobatini, and Westwoodiini. Mesoleiines also lack the carina on the second metasomal tergum that characterizes Ctenopelmatini. Nearly all mesoleiine species have a subapical notch on the ovipositor and a basal glymma. The glymma in mesoleiines is different from that found in most members of the Perilissini.
