Eurytenes dichromus Walker and Wharton, 2011

Taxonomic History / Nomenclature
Eurytenes dichromus Walker and Wharton, 2011 Journal of Hymenoptera Research 20: 27-28, 33-36.
Remarks
This species is thus far known only from females.
Diagnosis and Relationships
This species is most readily recognized by its broader, bicolored petiole (dark dorsally, pale ventral-laterally: best seen in Fig. 1) and bicolored, ventrally truncate clypeus (Fig. 2). Based on the shape and color pattern of the petiole, as well as the shape of the clypeus, E. dichromus is most similar to E. microsomus. The propodeum (Fig. 6, 7) is nearly always more heavily sculptured in E. dichromus than in E. microsomus and usually slightly more rugulose posterior-laterally than in E. abnormis. Eurytenes dichromus is a member of Eurytenes s. s., as characterized by the r1 cross-vein arising from the base of the fore wing stigma (Fig. 9).
