Metopius (Cultrarius) secundus Townes and Townes, 1959
Diagnosis and Relationships
Lower tooth of mandible entirely absent (see M. comptus page, Fig. 1). Interantennal process compressed, with median carina (Fig. 1). Facial shield without a median longitudinal carina. Occipital carina absent ventrally, below level of occipital foramen. Tarsal claws of fore and mid legs with pectination only on basal 0.3 and difficult to see. Galea and glossa long. Epicnemial carina short, extending dorsally just above sternaulus. Posterior-lateral corner of scutellum weakly produced, rather blunt (Fig. 4). Second metasomal tergite black, with the posterior-lateral corners yellow (Fig. 2).
Distribution
Known only from the holotype, collected in San Ignatio, New Mexico.
